Monza: Stem scholarships, named after Giulia Cecchettin

They will be officially named in memory of Giulia Cecchettin, the twenty-nine scholarships intended for women enrolled in stem university courses and residing in the municipalities of Monza, Brugherio and Villasanta.

There proposal had been announced by the Monza councilor for youth policies, Andreina Fumagalli, on the occasion of the presentation of the project which took place on 15 April in the town hall of Monza, which was also attended by the councilor for social policies of Villasanta, Laura Varisco.

«After a confrontation with the Cecchettin family – the three administrations say – we decided to name the scholarships after Giulia, so as to honor her memory through concrete help in starting the academic career for numerous university students».

Monza: Stem scholarships, who are they aimed at?

The municipality of Monza has allocated 10,000 euros for the project, Brugherio 3,500 and Villasanta 1000 euros, within the “Neet – a – mente Migliore” initiative, financed by the Lombardy Region. The call is aimed at women aged between 18 and 34 who are enrolling for the 2024/2025 academic year in the first year of a three-year or master’s degree course. Each of the twenty-nine scholarships has a value of 500 euros. Applications must be sent online through the Monza digital portal by June 2nd.
