Tragedy this morning in the hospital where a resuscitation doctor, Maurizio Portelli, 60 years old, passed away during the night shift. Last night he took service at the Vittorio Emanuele, working regularly. This morning at 7 am the nurses and the shift change colleague knocked on the door and found him lifeless, lying in the service bed, the one used by the healthcare workers to relax for a few hours during the shift in the absence of emergencies. Dismay and pain among friends and colleagues who cannot understand the serious loss. Doctor Portelli is described by everyone as a hard worker, always available and operational in the department, involved in one of the most difficult and delicate structures of the Vittorio Emanuele, the Anesthesia and Resuscitation unit. He also worked for 118, fully operational in rescuing people.

Words of condolences were expressed this morning by the president of the Medical Association, Giovanni D’Ippolito, a personal friend of the deceased resuscitator.
