Aido: for Pietrogrande the trust of the members

CREMONA – It took place on Saturday in the hall of the Agora center in Castelverde the ordinary elective assembly which outlined the Aido board of directors for the four-year period 2024/2028. Many confirmations but some new entries. He was present on behalf of the Lombardy regional headquarters Enrica Negroni, regional vicar vice-president. Mayor Graziella Locci brought the greetings of the Municipality.

President Francesco Pietrogrande was confirmed with a unanimous vote. The Provincial Aido of Cremona therefore starts again, but does so while remaining in the name of tradition even with new councillors, with the aim of giving new impetus and new lifeblood to the section which has 15,464 members in twenty groups spread across the entire provincial territory .

«Organ donation is a serious and complex issue – explains Pietrogrande – which deserves a few moments of reflection, at least once in the course of one’s life. Today in Italy more than 8 thousand people are waiting for a transplant: for many of these it is a struggle between life and death, which can only be won thanks to a donation.”

Becoming a donor is very simple, you just need to be of age (there is no maximum limit because you can donate until you are old). For some organs, ‘biological age’ applies rather than chronological age. You can register with Aido or express your consent to the donation of organs and tissues at the municipal registry offices, when issuing or renewing your identity card or at the Asst offices.
