Milan, 17 April. The 2023 tourism data on Ceresio show a significant increase. Arrivals increased by 17.4% compared to the previous year, while presences recorded a +10.3%. In absolute terms, this translates into 80,234 arrivals compared to 68,334 in 2022. Attendance, however, reached 309,890, compared to 281,047 in 2022. These are the main ones illustrated today by the regional councilors for University, Research and Innovation; to Transport and Sustainable Mobility and to Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Fashion who participated in the press conference to present the tourist season of Lake Ceresio.
“The Lombardy-Switzerland synergy – said the Councilor for Transport, Franco Lucente – between the Navigation Company of Lake Lugano and the Ceresio, Piano and Ghirla lake basin Authority is strategic for the valorisation of the local lake system. We work for an increasingly green fleet, with low-emission electric motorships and the use of alternative fuels. But not only that: we recently approved a resolution that allocates 242,000 euros to guarantee the safety of the lakes of Lombardy. Of these, 35,000 are dedicated to Lake Ceresio”.
“The numbers of Lake Ceresio – explained Councilor for Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Fashion, Barbara Mazzali – are a confirmation of how many areas and provinces of Lombardy are growing in attractiveness, which here translates into a wide offer: efficient cycle paths surrounded by greenery or by the lake, campsites, ‘glamping’, trekking itineraries in the surrounding mountains and many water activities”.
“For Lake Ceresio – concluded the University councilor, Alessandro Fermi – the Olympics will be fundamental, because if we talk about deseasonalization this is a very important opportunity to create something that is interesting for the winter period. As you well know, on Lake Como we are starting to spread a control and safety initiative with the Coast Guard and the aim is to replicate this project also on Ceresio. The ultimate objective is to also bring an electric boat to Ceresio like the one we have just inaugurated on Lario”.
