fine issued by the Carabinieri to non-compliant merchants – AndriaLive.it

In recent days, the Carabinieri of the Andria Company, assisted by personnel from the Labor Inspectorate Unit, carried out inspections in some restaurants in the Municipality of Andria where several violations of the Consolidated Work Safety Act, which came into force in 2008, were found. which constitutes the main legislative reference on the subject of worker safety.

The contested articles are different and mainly concern the lack of health surveillance and training of workers as well as the presence of some workers without a relevant contract, the so-called “illegal workers”, without insurance protection against accidents and occupational diseases.

Administrative sanctions and fines amounting to approximately 20,000 euros were imposed and in the inspection context the provision of suspension of entrepreneurial activity was also applied following investigations of irregular workers and serious violations regarding the protection of health and safety at work.

The Carabinieri specify that checks by the military will continue in the coming days throughout the Bat Province in order to reduce the phenomenon of illegal work, especially with the start of the summer season.
