Imolese, Dall’Osso: “Missed playoffs? No defeat. Other real objectives achieved”

A championship that can now be said to be closed, with no further possibility of reaching the playoffs, nor even the playouts, but a championship that at theImola has certainly given the joy of enhancing its youth sector, with the massive use of players from the rossoblù youth academy originally from Imola and the Imola surrounding area. Not only that, the Emilian club, included in Group D of Serie D, confirmed itself at the top of the LND “Youth of Value” ranking of the aforementioned group, and second at national level (HERE the complete ranking), effectively achieving what was the club’s goal for the season.

As he confirmed, exclusively to the microphones of TuttoMercatoWeb.comone of the club’s symbolic men, the defender Lorenzo Dall’Osso: “This first achieved goal is a reason for prestige and also the objective of the club, not having reached the playoffs was not a failure, because having a good ranking with the growth of the boys in our youth sector was a very good combo. Not we then forget that we reached the semi-final of the Italian Cup, losing by a narrow margin against Trapani promoted to Serie C. In any case, we have a championship to finish, and we want to reach the best possible ranking, because finishing in the left part of the same would give further value to what we have done. Finishing seventh rather than tenth can change, even from a future perspective.”

You spoke just now about the championship. The victory has been missing for a few rounds, how do you explain this moment?
“We were a little too discontinuous in the second half, this is evident because the numbers are an exact science, but there is no logical explanation for this, also because, with a few rare exceptions, the performance has never been lacking, and honestly I haven’t seen huge differences with those who are ahead of us in the standings, we are always at ease, we do what we prepare during the week, but the episodes are not smiling at us.”

How can this course be reversed, also to achieve the further objective you were talking about before?
“Perhaps trying to be a little more incisive, perhaps it is this aspect that we are missing. Then obviously the mental component also takes over, but I repeat that our objective is to honor everything as best we can, even perhaps being referees of our group, given that in the last two matches we will face Carpi and Ravenna, who are fighting for promotion to Serie C”.

Speaking of the promotion, with the exclusion of Pistoiese the ranking is rewritten. How did you experience this fact?
“Certainly with great regret, for all the employees of the club and for the history of the club, which also started with top objectives: these are situations that always lead to reflections. However, it is not something that for us, at pitch level, has particularly touched, not out of carelessness, mind you, but because the ranking doesn’t change us much: with them we had only scored three points. Let’s look ahead.”

Next, it also leads to the market. Will your future be in Imola?
“If there is the possibility, I would very much like to continue this path. And I have good feelings about it, a meeting with the club has already taken place and I see everyone’s willingness.”
