farewell to Diana Sorini, teacher at the Volta Fellini High School

Yesterday afternoon a tragic accident in the Marche region had fatal consequences for Diana Sorini, a teacher at the Volta Fellini high school in Riccione. The 65-year-old’s car in fact collided head-on with a truck driven by a 36-year-old along the road from Pesaro to Urbino, between Cappone and Capponello di Vallefoglia. The car caught fire and for the teacher, originally from Urbino, there was nothing that could be done.

The condolences of the Municipality of Riccione

in a note, the municipal administration of Riccione “expresses its condolences for the tragic passing of Professor Diana Sorini. Teacher at the Volta-Fellini high school in Riccione, which occurred yesterday afternoon along the route from her work to her home, in her Urbino. The municipal council joins in the deep sorrow of the family, colleagues, staff and students of the Volta-Fellini high school where Professor Sorini dedicated her commitment and her professionalism to the training and education of the new generations”.

“The entire municipal administration of Riccione rallies around the family members of Professor Diana Sorini, her colleagues at Volta-Fellini and her children who have lost a competent and passionate teacher”, he claims the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Riccione Sandra Villa who this morning expressed the administration’s condolences directly to the head teacher Paride Principi.

Last October, Professor Sorini had coordinated, in collaboration with the Municipality of Riccione, the artistic project of the students of the Volta-Fellini high school for the finissage of the exhibition “A life against the mafia” which had arrived in Riccione on the occasion of the traveling tour in municipalities of the province proposed by the Organized Crime Observatory of the Province of Rimini, as part of the initiatives aimed at remembering the numerous mafia victims 30 years after the Capaci and Via D’Amelio massacre.
