THE EAGLE. The new single by the Abruzzo singer-songwriter Vid is dedicated to the memory of the 309 victims of the earthquake of 6 April 2009 in L’Aquila. Fifteen years after the tragedy, the singer-songwriter from Torrevecchia Teatina publishes “Quanto tempo senzasenso”, a rock ballad with a lyrical interlude sung by Patrizia Barbetta.
«I remember the days before the earthquake, when there was already talk of tremors in L’Aquila, but above all I have clearly imprinted in my mind the tragic night between 5 and 6 April 2009, when I poured into the street with my family and I immediately thought of L’Aquila, almost as if it were a bad dream” says Vid. «I was strongly struck by what happened and decided, the same day, to write a song about that terrible night, but then it remained locked in a drawer for years. Fifteen years after the earthquake, I wanted to release it combined with a video clip” The video, directed by Vid himself – who is also the protagonist – was filmed by Raffaele Gioffrè between L’Aquila, Onna and Castelnuovo. «I have found myself in countries where there is still rubble and, in part, they are therefore still to be rebuilt» he adds. «I dedicate the song to those who have lost children, a husband, a wife, grandparents, any dearest person in the world left under the rubble. Soon I will go to L’Aquila to present the song and give it to the survivors who have worked hard by rolling up their sleeves.” Vid, born Davide Morelli, born in 1969, began studying the piano at the age of 10. The writing of his first musical text dates back to six years later. As an eighteen-year-old, he performed with Tony Esposito and participated in local and provincial festivals, dreaming of the Ariston. Over the years he has collaborated with numerous artists.
