National Congress and Course of Neurovascular Microsurgery with innovative techniques

Novara – The second edition of the National theoretical-practical course (Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 April) and the International Congress in Neurovascular Surgery (Friday 19 April) directed by Dr. Christian Cossandi, Director of the Complex Neurosurgery Structure of the Maggiore della Carità Hospital of Novara, and by Dr. Federico Griva Director of the Complex Neurosurgery Structure of the San Giovanni Bosco Hospital in Turin.

The Vascular Neurosurgeon is called upon to deal with increasingly complex cases involving cerebral vascular malformations for which microsurgery represents an important therapy. From this consideration the idea of ​​organizing a National Course was born in recent years annual of Neurovascular Microsurgery “ANEURYSMS CLIPPING AND VASCULAR ANASTOMOSIS ON SYNTHETIC AND PLACENTA MODELS” and an annual International Neurovascular Congress “BRAIN ARTERIOVENOUS MALFORMATIONS”.

The Course will be held in Novara at Simnova (University of Eastern Piedmont UPO); the objective of the Course is the intensive teaching of microsurgical approaches and clipping of cerebral aneurysms through lectures and hours of “hands-on” activities on anatomical models, in a dedicated laboratory, with laboratory methods among the first used at national and European level. Subsequently the Congress, at Palazzo Orelli in Piazza Martiri in Novara (Stock Exchange Trading Room)which involves the participation of numerous specialists from all over Italy, will have an international Faculty made up of world-renowned vascular and endovascular neurosurgeons from the USA and Spain.

Furthermore, the objective of continuing the future programming of fixed annual appointments is confirmed, allowing constant scientific updating and promoting the training of new generations of vascular neurosurgeons.
