Ragusa – Endless waiting lists?
The law helps. Ragusanews explains how when the lists are blocked (or the times are too long) to obtain a date for a visit or for a diagnostic test, there is intramoenia with reimbursement. In any case, performance must be guaranteed. If the Cup is not successful, it will have to activate the so-called “protection process”, even from the private sector.
Ragusanews had anticipated the news last April 2nd. There is a protection path designed to offer responses that are closer to the health needs of the population, in line with the provisions of the National Waiting List Government Plan. In fact, more and more exasperated users write to us to report difficulties in booking a diagnostic test or a specialist visit. We talk about “closed agendas” when it is not possible to book a visit or exam because there are no available dates, even after some time. Closing booking diaries is prohibited, with penalties for violators. In this case the patient has the right to request that the service be guaranteed within the times established by law.
There is a way to assert the right: write to the right bodies, which are required to guarantee the patient a service within the time required by law, also by providing a private visit in a public facility (under intramoenia regime) or in a private agreement; all at the expense of the healthcare company.
