Neurovascular microsurgery: national course and international congress in Novara

Starting tomorrow, 17 April 2024, until 18 April, a precious opportunity to take stock of news and advanced practices in the sector.

Practical theoretical course

The second edition of the national theoretical-practical course (Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 April) and the international congress in neurovascular surgery (Friday 19 April) will take place in the next few days in Novara, chaired by Doctor Christian Cossandidirector of the complex neurosurgery structure “Enrico Geuna” of the Aou “Maggiore della Carità” of Novara, and by doctor Federico Grivadirector of the complex Neurosurgery structure of the San Giovanni Bosco hospital in Turin.

The vascular neurosurgeon increasingly finds himself having to deal with complex cases of cerebral vascular malformations, for which microsurgery represents a fundamental therapy. From this consideration was born the idea of ​​organizing an annual national course in neurovascular microsurgery entitled “Aneurysms Clipping and Vascular Anastomosis on Synthetic and Placenta Models” and an annual international congress on neurovascularity entitled “Brain Arteriovenous Malformations”.

This year, the course will be held in Novara at SIMNOVA (University of Eastern Piedmont UPO) with the aim of providing intensive teaching of microsurgical approaches and clipping of cerebral aneurysms, through lectures and practical “hands-on” sessions on anatomical models in a dedicated laboratory.

The laboratory methods used will be among the first at national and European level.

The congress

Subsequently, the congress will take place, again in our city, at Palazzo Orelli in Piazza Martiri, which will see the participation of numerous specialists from all over Italy and will have an international Faculty made up of renowned vascular and endovascular neurosurgeons from the United States and Spain.
