Chip the dog finds her

The Carabinieri seized drugs in the bathrooms of the Galilei Institute: it had already happened last March. The dog Chip is fundamental

Drugs continue to circulate at the Galilei Institute in Bolzano. In modest quantities, of course, but within a few weeks the police of the capital twice found narcotic substances inside the school. This time, as in the most classic cliché, it was hidden in the bathroom. The men of the force showed up in civilian clothes accompanied by the dog Chip, now a well-known protagonist in the Laives dog unit. It was he who discovered a few grams of hashish and marijuana which, according to the command, would then be destined for retail sale by some students. At the moment we are also trying to identify who was involved in this drug dealing.

“Synergy with schools is fundamental”

Last March 22, an identical plainclothes service allowed the recovery of 7 grams of hashish hidden in the clothes of a 21 year old student. In short, the message is clear: the police are keeping an eye on what is happening in the classrooms, lobbies and corridors. “To stem these phenomena – the words of company commander Esposito Vangone – we need to work in three directions: education, family and prevention. In this last aspect, synergy with schools is fundamental for us. We are particularly happy that, once again, three-year-old German shepherd Chip was instrumental in finding the hidden wrappers.”
