In Reggio Calabria the “Christus Vincit

“I am Don Giovanni GattusoParish Priest of the Parish of S. Nicola and S. Maria della Neve in Riparo Prumo-Cannavò in Reggio Calabria. I am writing to you in my capacity as President of the Circolo Oratorio Sant’Agata and Honorary President of the Chorus Christi, two entities born from the synergy created between the inhabitants of the two villages of Cataforio and San Salvatore, based in the respective parishes of S. Giuseppe and SS. Savior“, we read in a press note.

“In consideration of the great success achieved last year by the charity initiative “CHRISTUS VINCIT – TOGETHER FOR THE HOSPICE”, the proceeds of which were entirely donated to the VIA DELLE STELLE HOSPICE in Reggio Calabria, we agreed, in collaboration with the INA – Istituto Nazionale Azzurro – chaired by Doctor Lorenzo Festicini, to follow up the previous project.

It was therefore decided to choose the Great Metropolitan Hospital of Reggio Calabria as the beneficiary of the new initiative, specifically identifying the Pediatric Department. The new charity project will be called “Christus Vincit – Second Edition – Together for the Pediatric Department of the GOM of Reggio Calabria” and will be presented during a press conference to be held on 22 April at 11.00 am, at Palazzo Alvaro , seat of the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria.

The phases of the aforementioned project are illustrated below.

First phase: awareness conference, entitled “Harmonies of the Soul”: Minors, Music, Faith over time” which will be held on Friday 17 May, in the GOM hall of Reggio Calabria. The table will be composed not only of the organizers, but also of the Health Director of the GOM, Dr. Salvatore Maria Costarella and other authoritative personalities.

The second includes a training meeting, held by Maestro Monsignor Marco Frisina, where all the Parish Choirs will be invited to participate, which will be held on 06/02/2024, in the Aula Magna of the Pius XI Archbishop’s Seminary of Reggio Calabria at 6.00 pm and has as its theme the SACRED SONG, as a vehicle for a new evangelization, an authentic expression for a liturgy of praise.

Third phase: concert of polyphonic sacred music, directed by the illustrious Maestro Frisina, which will take place on 3 June 2024 at the “F. Cilea” in Reggio Calabria and which will be granted purely free of charge by the Municipal Administration. Some choirs belonging to the Chorus Inside Calabria will participate in the event, performing 12 pieces taken from the illustrious Maestro’s repertoire.

The proceeds from the concert, together with any other contributions made by public and/or private bodies and net of any organizational expenses, will be entirely donated to the Pediatric Department of the GOM of Reggio Calabria.

The Medical Director of the GOM, Dr. Salvatore Maria Costarellato whom the project was submitted, joined with considerable enthusiasm.
Therefore, I hereby ask for your availability to participate in the press conference, scheduled for day 22 cm at 11.00 am, at Palazzo Alvaro – Piazza Italia, during which the aforementioned initiative will be illustrated“.
