It will leave next May 16th at Ghione Theatre Of Rome the seventh edition of “Cometiamo”, an event reserved for Amateur Theatre, which offers an opportunity for visibility to passionate companies, who will also be competing with each other until next 11 June. Among the ten shows on the bill (plus one out of competition, and short and monologue contest on 5 June), “L’altra donna” will be staged on Wednesday 22 and Saturday 25 May, a theatrical piece written, directed and performed by Marco Vitiello.
Synopsis
A void, an amnesia that takes away twenty years of existence. An awakening in a new “world”, increasingly technological and distant from one’s principles and habits. In “The Other Woman”, a theatrical piece written, directed and performed by Marco Vitiello and staged by the Arte Povera company, the protagonist’s aneurysm is at the origin of a journey into an unknown present, into an indefinite past and into a far from predictable future. A path that will turn out to be a real battle with the unconscious, face to face with uncomfortable truths.
But what is reality and what is the surreal dimension? The show develops on this ambiguity and the boundary that separates love from intolerance. The spectator will follow the same journey as the protagonist outside and inside himself, to discover the vices of the society of our time and of the human soul. We reflect and laugh while respecting the canons of the Italian dramaturgical tradition and winking at modernity; but behind the appearance and the gags of unlikely characters and through the impact with anecdotes and feelings that seemed forgotten, life becomes a delicate game of balances, a source of great questions and indecisions that can hardly fill that initial sense of emptiness.
