In particular, Genovesi’s task, envisaged by the legislation, would be to carry out investigations through information flows in implementation of Model 231 and implement controls aimed at preventing Campolonghi from incurring specific criminal offences. Among these, for example, are those against the environment, such as environmental pollution, environmental disaster, the discharge of water containing toxic substances and soil pollution. Fratelli d’Italia therefore wants to highlight that the lawyer Sirio Genovesi, in the exercise of the functions of municipal councilor and president of the Council Commission on the Environment, should not be the bearer of private interests and could not even find himself in such conditions as to compromising the impartiality of his public action in the political roles he holds. Due to the doubts that this situation entails, as Fratelli d’Italia, we ask whether it is appropriate for PD member Sirio Genovesi to continue to be the president of the commission that should monitor environmental issues”.
