Valfenera triumphed in the final of the Piedmont Valle d’Aosta Cup in the Second and Third Category, beating Nuova Astigiana Calcio 2-1 at the Censin Bosia in Asti thanks to goals from Saidy on a penalty and Diiasio, while Cori scored for the rosanero. It was a beautiful final, correct, played at a high pace and with the usual large crowd of spectators who color the stands of the city stadium at every edition. The two teams played a study first half, without any great opportunities. Then in the second half all the emotions. After 10′ a knockdown in the area by Nuova Astigiana sends Valfenera’s number 10 Saidy to the spot who coolly displaces Aseglio. Shortly after Valentino Iannarella’s team doubled their lead with a lethal counterattack, Dumbuya’s cross found Diiasio in the area who controlled it on the fly and scored. Nuova Astigiana tries in every way, but Valfenera’s defense holds up and thus wins the Piedmont Valle d’Aosta Cup of the Second and Third Category – Provincial Phase of Asti.
President Mario Negro’s team also gains access to the regional final stages which will begin on May 8th. At the end of the match, a nice moment of Fair Play during the awards ceremony with the two teams congratulating each other for an excellent match.
