The work on the Giolitti “emblem” of the Administration
It is not yet known when the endless works on the Giolitti flyover will end.
The deadline would be set for April 20th, but there are those who are pessimistic about it. Among these, the minority councilor Vittoria Briccarello (United Si Can) who complained about a lack of organization in the management of maintenance by the municipal administration.
“The case of the Giolitti flyover is the emblem of the total absence of capacity and control of this Administration in the management of the public citizen and in the relationship with businesses”, he commented, also supporting the absence of operators reported by those who pass through the area every day .
The deputy mayor and councilor for Public Works Stefania Morra responds to the accusations by stating that the company in charge is carrying out the work even if it does not set a date for the end of the “construction site”.
So one has to say whoever lives will see.
AstiTeatro, a festival in search of identity
Yesterday, Thursday 4 April, from 11 to 12, the “Gianni Basso” Hall of the Alfieri Theater was packed with journalists, photographers and professionals for the multi-voice presentation press conference of “AstiTeatro”. After the ritual photo with the logo designed by Elisabetta Serra which communicates a look to the future, we talk about the historic national and international theater festival, now in its forty-sixth edition, which boasts one of the longest histories of continuous presence on the Italian scene. Always dedicated to contemporary theatre, and in particular to the broad concept of new dramaturgy, “Asti Teatro46”, available in different forms, offers a rich program of premieres and also absolute novelties for 2024. This year too Mario Nosengo will direct it, with the collaboration of Eugenio Fea Bosia. In the first speech, the mayor, reiterating the concept of “AstiTeatro Festival” as a true “City Festival”, recalls the many who worked in the previous months to present the extensive program today.
City council open on the South-West link road

Psa, the South of Asti in Restriction Zone 2
There are a total of twelve cases of African swine fever in the Asti area, with the first positive cases in Bruno and Castelnuovo Belbo. A non-alarming situation, as explained by Fausto Solito, veterinary director of the local health authority of Asti, but which nevertheless led to the activation of Restriction Zone 2 in the southern Asti area which is within a radius of 10 km from the point of discovery of pig carcasses affected by Psa. The northern part, however, is subject to Restriction Zone 1. This brings a total of 146 Piedmontese municipalities in which at least one positive case of African swine fever has been observed.
Spring Fair and European Market
First weekend of April characterized by the Spring Fair in Asti and the European Market in San Damiano. In Asti the Spring Fair will be held on Sunday only, with the city center “invaded” by 300 stalls. Sunday’s will be the first Spring Fair organized by ProCom.
In San Damiano, however, the European Market will hold its stall for three days, from today to Sunday, in Piazza Giovanni XXIII and Stefanizzi. The official inauguration is scheduled for 5pm. The protagonists of the European Market will be “street food” and craft beers. Anva is organizing the event.
