Latina half marathon: fifty days to go

LATINA – There are only fifty days left until the Legea Half Marathon of Latina on May 19, 2024. The countdown has started for the most awaited running event in the Pontine capital, organized by the company “Free Running” of the president Davide Fioriello.

The race, which will be part of the three days of the Sports Festival at Campo Coni, is sponsored by the Municipality of Latina, Coni Lazio, the Province of Latina, Opes and is included in the calendar of the Italian Athletics Federation as a Bronze stage. A path with a total length of 21,097 km who takes pride inFidal approval and the short distance of the length of 10km.

New this year, the free 2.7 km Family Walk, which thanks to the help of expert staff will allow you to spend time in the streets of the heart of the city crossing via Buonarroti, viale XXI Aprile, via Sauro, Piazza della Libertà, via Diaz , Piazza del Popolo, Corso della Repubblica, via Savoia, returning to Campo Coni. Adults, children and four-legged friends can take part in the walk by showing up at 9 am at the start in via Botticelli.

Therefore, all runners will receive a finisher’s medal and the official Legea t-shirt. The Pontine company has in fact closed the agreement with the well-known technical/sports clothing brand which becomes the title sponsor of the event, bearing its name. Other important sponsors join the race, such as the Garden Hotel in Via Del Lido with which there is an active agreement for all runners who arrive in the Pontine capital. And again, Cantina Villa Gianna, Icar Auto Evo, Sport’85, Biolatina.

Also worth highlighting is the new collaboration with “Plastic Free” Odv Onlus, one of the most important voluntary associations dealing with the environment at a national level with more than 1,000 representatives throughout Italy. The non-profit organization will support in the management of the refreshment points, taking care of the cleaning of the area and the surrounding area. Participation at a provincial level is expected, with the confluence of volunteers from neighboring cities, who will support the volunteers from Latina to reduce the environmental impact of the event.

The Legea Half Marathon of Latina grows more and more every year, establishing itself in the country as a favorite race for many. Also on its side is the beautiful route, fast and mostly flat, which will connect the city center with the Latina seafront. The 10 km, however, will develop entirely in the streets of the center of Latina with the passage and turning point on Via del Lido. A way to discover and admire the Pontine places while running, between history and modernity, between urbanization and nature. Over the years, many athletes of national and international fame have chosen to take part in the Pontine event, such as the king of marathons and multiple world champion, Giorgio Calcaterra, who confirmed his presence in the race again this year. The departure is set for 8.30 from the athletics field in via Botticelli in Latina, a time that will allow the city streets to be quickly cleared.
