The Region “fishes” another 30 million for Piedmontese agriculture

CUNEO – The Region “fishes” another 30 million for Piedmontese agriculture

Faced with numerous requests for funding for integrated projects, the EU was asked and obtained to remodulate the rural development plan

“There have been many financing requests presented by Piedmontese farmers for integrated projects, which concern both the climate and the environment. And so the financial allocation foreseen by the 2023 calls has been exhausted. So we asked and obtained from the European Union to remodulate our rural development plan, in order to find resources also for those who had been excluded. This today translates into the opening of a new tender, which makes 30 million euros available”. This was declared by the president of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, and the councilor for Agriculture, Marco Protopapa, commenting on the opening of a new regional tender on the agro-climate-environmental measures of the Rural Development Complement 2023-2027.

The new measure provides for a total allocation of 30 million euros, which will be allocated to those Piedmontese farmers who will engage in integrated production agronomic activities for five years. Precisely in the context of integrated production, the Regional Department of Agriculture activated a tender worth 58.5 million euros in 2023, from which 1,651 companies in Piedmont benefited.

“With these new resources, the Region confirms its concrete help to the agricultural world, responding in this case to the difficulties linked to the CAP directives, which requires long-term commitments for interventions to protect sustainability and natural resources”conclude President Cirio and Councilor Protopapa.

The new funding call will expire on May 15, 2024; the text is published on the Piedmont Region website at this link.
