The new men’s Serie B field hockey championship for Ar Fincantieri Monfalcone didn’t start off in the best way. Within the friendly walls, coach Galifi’s team lost 5-2 to Cuscube Brescia, paying dearly above all for a drop in tension and attention in the second quarter of the game which allowed the Lombards to make the decisive breakthrough. After an initial phase of study, with the Monfalconi team good at spinning the ball to look for an opening in the host defense, but without managing to really worry the Brescia goalkeeper, Cuscube took the lead in the 10th minute following the development of a short corner . Venturi equalized immediately, but as mentioned in the second quarter a failure by Ar Fincantieri allowed Brescia to turn the game around, scoring two goals in two minutes, going into the long break ahead 3-1 and then managing in the second half with others three goals in the last quarter, two from Lombardy and one from Isonzo with Jonker. The absolute protagonist of the match, however, was Strickeler of Cuscube Brescia, who scored a poker. The Monfalcone team’s next match is scheduled for April 14th, away to Padua. Finally, this is the construction team that took the field against Brescia under coach Massimo Galifi: Faresi, T. Weis, Jonker, Chivella, Poropat, Braz, Dellapietra, Pica, Venturi, M. Valentinuzzi, R. Valentinuzzi, Sferch.
