Vittoria Modesti and Emanuele Lambertinitwo sporting and academic excellences who have distinguished themselves in the last year for the goals achieved both in the sporting and university fields, were received for an informal meeting with the Magnificent Rector Giovanni Molari.

Vittoria Modestiborn in 2002, is a tennis player enrolled in her second year of law school. It’s part of the journey dual career from this season and with the Alma Mater shirt she distinguished herself at the national university championships in Camerino last year, winning two gold medals, in the women’s singles and doubles. Her great commitment, now, it is linked to CNU 2024: in Campobasso he wants to repeat the results of last season. It won’t be easy, since, every year, the level of academic tennis is higher and higher.

“It was a really good experience – she comments with satisfaction Victory -. They told me: win two golds and you will meet the Rector. I almost thought it was a joke, but it was all true.” Then he returns to the conversation with Molari. “We talked about tennis, about Sinner. If my sport is now popular it is thanks to Jannik, who is truly a phenomenon. I’m 970th in the world, 750th in doubles. I want to move up and improve, without rushing“.

Between a word on the obverse and another on the reverse, Vittoria also talked about studies. “The first year was difficult. With tennis you are always traveling to tournaments, it’s difficult to find the time. But with the dual career path that was proposed to me, everything became clearer. I would like to take all the exams from the first year and, perhaps, even some from the second. I want to grow, like in tennis.”

Emanuele Lambertiniborn in 1999, he is enrolled in the third year of Automation Engineering. It’s part of the journey dual career and has already taken part to two editions of the Paralympic Games. In Rio de Janeiro, in 2016, he was the youngest athlete in Brazil. Then in 2021 in Tokyo and, now, he is ready for Paris 2024. His palmares also includes three participations in the World Championships (2017 Rome, 2019 Cheongjiu and Terni 2023) and one in the European Championships in Warsaw in 2022. Gold at the World Championships in Terni in individual foil and bronze in two editions of the World Cup, in Warsaw and Nimes.

“The meeting with the Rector – he says Emmanuel – it was great. I had the opportunity to meet and chat with my ’employer’. He was brilliant and curious, even though he told me he didn’t know the mechanics of fencing very well. I proposed him to do some performances in the Rectorate, he would be fantastic.”

Lambertini, as always, is a raging river. “The Rector is truly number one. I can only thank him and the University, and also Cus Bologna, for the opportunity that was given to me to be part of the dual career project. I fence, I train and I can study. I have 7-8 exams left. Just in recent days I have verbalized another one.”

The Paralympic Games are just around the corner. “My hope? To go up. To get on the plane to Paris. Then what comes will be all welcome. The dream is the big target, but before I get on the steps of a virtual podium, I have to get on the plane to Paris And this is already a good starting point.”
