Relax at Villa Saletta this summer and embrace the art of Dolce far niente

For peace and serenity, nothing is better than a holiday in a private villa in the heart of the Tuscan countryside. Surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature, Villa Saletta is a rural retreat that excels in effortless luxury.

With its rolling hills, wooded valleys, acres of rich vineyards and ancient olive groves. Villa Saletta offers a secluded retreat where you can enjoy a more peaceful pace of life, gracefully immersed in nature.

Like most historic country estates in Tuscany, Villa Saletta boasts a vibrant and fascinating heritage. Dating back to the Middle Ages, Villa Saletta was once a village that thrived thanks to its agricultural enterprise owned by generations of Italian nobility. In the 14th century it was purchased by the esteemed Gambacorta family, who united all the lands into an extensive estate. It was subsequently purchased by the Ricardi family, respected Florentine bankers of the famous Medici family, who transformed the village into a profitable working estate during the 16th and 17th centuries.

Twenty years ago, the management of Villa Saletta passed to the “Hands” family who lovingly gave the estate a rebirth, thoughtfully restoring the historic buildings and reviving its ancient vineyards so that its ancient winemaking traditions could continue. The Villa Saletta estate is today a thriving and impressive enterprise that combines luxury hospitality with winemaking, olive oil production and agriculture. What guests will now discover is a beautifully unspoiled world of 30 hectares of vineyards, alongside established olive groves, wildflower meadows, woodland and farmland.

Villa Saletta offers three historic villas for seasonal rental. Each property is unique and features original architectural details, welcoming interiors, beautifully landscaped gardens and a private pool. The lifestyle in the elegant villas of Villa Saletta is one of relaxed luxury, where much time is spent enjoying the outdoors. From breakfast on the terrace to hours of relaxation by the pool, from long lunches enjoyed under a shaded pergola to picnics at sunset among the vineyards. From dawn to dusk Villa living is a relaxed experience.

For those who love time spent in nature, the estate is the perfect place to discover the flora and fauna of Tuscany with endless hiking trails and countryside to explore. Take an evening stroll along the quiet country lanes and you may spot roe deer, porcupines, hares and occasionally even a wild boar or two in the distance.

If food and wine are your thing. therefore Villa Saletta is a privileged destination for a gourmet holiday. Take time to savor the company’s excellent farm-to-table wines, deliciously shaped by the character of the ancient and unique terroir.

This award-winning winery is also a great place to learn about the traditional winemaking process from start to finish.

Of course, wine and food are the perfect partner and guests at Villa Saletta can enjoy the best of both worlds. From in-villa cooking classes to truffle hunting, from sunset picnics to olive picking, from hand-delivered boxes of organic meat for the barbecue to using the services of an expert private chef.
