Lamezia Terme – “Explore, Learn, Create: AttivaMente 2.0 STEM workshops for a Creative Culture”. The activities of the “AttivaMente 2.0” project promoted by ARCI Lamezia in collaboration with Inrete, Aleph Arte, Terra del Sol and the “Antonio Saffioti” permanent observatory for school inclusion of the Municipality of Lamezia begin. “Activate Mind 2.0” is an innovative initiative that combines STEM with creativity and culture, through a series of workshops that will offer children and teenagers an engaging and stimulating experience. The project financed by the Calabria Region pursuant to articles 72 and 73 of Legislative Decree no. 117/2017, third sector code implementing the guidelines signed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies (MLPS), aims to encourage the cultural growth of boys and girls with a mix of multidisciplinary activities aimed at stimulating curiosity and imagination, self-esteem and participation through quality educational and recreational practices.

The recreational and recreational activities, completely free, coordinated and carried out by trainers and educators with great experience in the field of STEM and in the pedagogical, technological, artistic and musical fields, will begin Monday 8 April and will take place at the Municipal Library of Lamezia TermAnd. Initiatives in line with the proposal of the study help service “I Care”, activated since December by the permanent observatory for school inclusion “Antonio Saffioti”, which welcomed with great enthusiasm the invitation to support the project, sharing the common vision aimed at enhancing the potential of children and young people starting from the decisive factor of relationship and relationship with the community. The proposed workshops integrate art, music and creativity in the context of STEM disciplines where science, technology and all other disciplines uniquely combine practical learning with creative exploration and offer participants the opportunity to develop technical and artistic skills in a fun and stimulating environment.

The participants, they explain in a note “divided into two groups, Kids (children aged 7 to 10) e Teens (children aged 11 to 14), will in fact try their hand at various workshops: stem, creativity and digital-humanism with activities and experiences from robotics to musical composition, from 3D design and printing to gamification activities linked to museums and libraries, participants will be immersed in a journey of discovery, enhancing their talents using Minecraft and coding platforms such as Scratch for the construction of video games, 3D modeling apps such as Tinkercad and educational robotics kits, but also “analog” tools to give free rein to art and creativity both in the musical and verbal and graphic expression fields. Our educational method adopts different methodologies from Peer education, to Cooperative learning from Gamification and gaming to making, combining elements of research, activation of networking, elements of co-design and co-planning of direct actions, also through innovative digital products” .

The primary objective is “to motivate, involve, transmit and entertain, but also to grow scientific, technological and artistic cultural skills and competences that integrate full digital citizenship. An information desk will also be activated from Monday to Thursday (3.30pm – 5.30pm) at the “Antonio Saffioti” permanent observatory for school inclusion – Lamezia Terme Municipal Library. A press conference to present the project will follow. The results of the project will then be shared through social channels and the web platform.
