Antonella Clerici returns home. «Thank you all for your love and closeness. It’s better and I’m finally back in my #casanelbosco among trees, nature, animals. Now a bit of convalescence and the need to take some time that I never have. Giving value even to idleness and sometimes stopping”, are her words on her Instagram profile of the presenter, who after the emergency operation on her ovaries communicates to her fans that she is returning home. Clerici was hospitalized last week in Rome, after a check-up which revealed the need for immediate oophorectomy surgery. Her face from ‘she’s always midday’ she posts a photo of her which portrays her in her home Arquata Scrivia, on the border between Piedmont and Liguria, where she lives with her partner Vittorio Garrone and her daughter Maelle her. Many messages of encouragement and support, from common fans and many well-known faces of the show. «A tight hug», writes Giorgia. Three little hearts are the message from Lorella Cuccarini, while Mara Venier writes: «A big kiss Anto». Among the messages also those from Francesca Fagnani, Francesca Michielin, Elisa Isoardi, Alberto Matano, Andrea Delogu and many others.

Speaking to Adnkronos on the day of returning home is the surgeon who operated on the presenter, Enrico Vizza, member of the board of directors of the Italian Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (Sigo) and director of the Department of Clinical and Oncology Research from the Regina Elena Cancer Institute in Rome: «There are not many fears for the final diagnosis of her ovarian problem. However, the histological results are awaited and will be available in 2 weeks. But the experience suggests a reassuring outcome. The surgery went very well. It was performed laparoscopically, with very small instruments, 3 millimeters, with a very small scar. From an aesthetic point of view, in practice, you will not see anything.”

«Everything – the surgeon recalls – arose from an ovarian cyst whose ultrasound image had changed in recent months, so it was necessary to intervene very quickly to have a histological examination, still in progress, capable of indicating the nature of the formation. We will only have definitive confirmation in the next few weeks.” The danger, however, “has receded in a certain sense, fears are low on an oncological level”. A story, continues Vizza, which “demonstrates the importance of early diagnosis”. And also that of prevention for women. Women’s health is much more complex than that of men, they must undergo more checks on a regular basis. Particularly in some moments of life – menopause and perimenopause in particular – in which the incidence of some tumors increases: uterus, endometrium, ovary, breast, colon”. Antonella Clerici’s story, concludes the specialist, «shows that checks are necessary even if there is an alteration that seems benign: you still need to keep it under control and not be afraid to check. We must remember that today we are able to carry out interventions, even complex ones, with a very limited impact in terms of scar and quality of life.”
