Christian De Sica he was a guest on one of the last episodes of “Pass by BSMT” where, with Gianluca Gazzoli they retraced his career and private life, including amusing anecdotes and a critical analysis of the future of cinema. Has political correctness really killed comedy? De Sica is convinced that nothing can be said anymore, but if on the one hand “to make people laugh you have to be bad”, on the other “it is good that certain things are no longer said and that there is more attention”.

But not only that, Christian de Sica also revealed what he thinks of the new generation, between strengths and weaknesses.

Christian De Sica, the analysis of today’s young people

Christian De Sica opened up a lot in Gianluca Gazzoli’s podcast, analyzing the current situation of cinema, compared to that of the golden years: «We were luckier, there was more money, we made 300 films, a lot of musical shows. Now we do a quarter of what we used to do. Platforms like Netflix are saved, but it’s not like before. Holidays lasted months, but you didn’t have to be rich to go to the seaside. The less wealthy families left by car and stayed on holiday for two months, July and August. Now the holiday lasts 6 days in August. There is no longer the optimism that there was then».

Then he continues: «There was great optimism, there was more ignorance, we were more provincial, but there was optimism. I love young people, their candor, their enthusiasm, I see that they are much more loyal. We had more superstructures, we had more inferiority complexes. This candor in young people strikes me a lot. The only thing that saddens me is that they are all dressed the same, all taking photos of the food they have in front of the restaurant, or the girls who are all dressed a bit like sluts with little mouths, but why are they mouths like that? This thing makes me feel empty, a sense of melancholy…Does it mean that if you do this you are nothing, because all the girls are dressed in miniskirts, 12cm heels and their little mouths so swollen? It means that there is a solitude, you have to say that you have fun, that you go on yachts, to wonderful places, but none of it is true.”
