Naples is now the capital of fiction. As well as many other worlds. And, therefore, it is also the ideal place to acclaim the most loved and important series of the moment. And so, from Sabrina Ferilli to Michele Riondino to Giusy Buscemi to Gabriele Muccino to Giacomo Giorgio to Jasmine Trinca, the ghota of Italian TV and cinema met last Saturday (June 1st) in the city for the Silver Ribbons, the prizes awarded by the National Union of Film Journalists to major series which has reached its fourth edition. In practice, the Oscars of cinema on TV which boast – compared to the American night of stars – the wonderful location of the Court theater in Palazzo Reale in Piazza del Plebiscito. While Jasmine Trinca who, together with the entire team of the Rai saga “History” taken from the novel by Elsa Morante (director Francesca Archibugi) won the award for best series of the year, on the blue carpet (as can be heard in the video interview) she stops to reflect on the importance of rereading the story and bringing it to the general public: “I am very happy that the series has been awarded because it shows how history has always trampled on the least and how war always hits the poorest, then, in the Second World War, as now… let’s remember that the world continues to be a horror”.

But who wins more awards between Alessandro Gassmann and his son Leo?
The two Gassmanns, father and son, Alessandro (awarded for the second season of “A Professor”) and Leo, silver ribbon as revelation actor of the year for his performance in “Califano” (also Rai) they had fun answering our questions on the “competition” to see who gets the most prizes. While the beautiful Letizia Tonia revelation actress for how she immersed herself in the shoes and soul of Gianna Nannini in the Netflix film “Sei nell’anima” dedicated to the singer, she is still amazed and astonished by the success that has overwhelmed her. Michele Riondino, perfect Vincenzo Florio in the Rai saga “I Leoni di Sicilia” by Disney, awarded as best “dramedy” series, is analysed: “Florio was a dreamer and a precursor and in my small way I try to do a bit like him, I’m not a a precursor but a dreamer yes. He could have turned the history of the South upside down.”
Ferilli: “What fun to play a bastard”
Sabrina Ferilli, awarded as iconic actress of the year, she says: “I had fun playing Gloria, a different character than usual, even a bastard, outside the box. And it was also very nice to return to work for Rai.” And then, among the winners there is also a nice but elusive one Asia Argento, who arrives at the Royal Palace accompanied by her sixteen-year-old son Nicola, for the part of the prostitute Santina in the series “La Storia”: “A role so well written that while I was playing it I felt like I wasn’t working, it was so natural, I felt like I wasn’t acting.” And, when asked who she is and how Asia is doing today, she replies: “Sobriety for me at this moment in life is many things…”.

And then they were rewarded too Gianmarco Saurinoprotagonist of the film about Elisa Claps, the young woman killed in Potenza, a film that helped bring great attention to the case; James George, the actor of “Mare Fuori” who has now become a star with millions of followers who has been awarded for 4 series (in addition to “Mare Fuori” and “Elisa Claps”, also “We are legend” and “Doc”) and Massimiliano Gallo which plays at home with “Napoli milionaria” which won the Nastro d’Argento as best TV film. The new citadel of cinema in Naples
Before long the Ribbons will be celebrated in the new one citadel of cinema which will be built in the city’s former NATO base, a hub that will further help the development of the audiovisual sector in Campania both from a production, screenwriting and technological point of view. And where a hub will be reserved for animation, a sector which in Italy faces many prejudices but which, still in Naples, is finding development. And Enzo Dalò is preparing a project on Fiammetta and Boccaccio which will be realized in the coming months.
