As is now tradition, on the occasion of Workers Day took place on May Day concert. Yesterday Wednesday 1 May 2024In fact, the great event organized by the CGIL, CISL and UIL leaders was held for the first time in the evocative setting of the Circus Maximus in Rome. With new hosts and many singers on stage, despite an almost incessant rain the “concert” did not disappoint expectations. Let’s find out how did it go.
May Day 2024 concert: the hosts
The edition 2024 (the 36th in history) of May Day concertas mentioned, was held for the first time at Circus Maximus of Rome, leaving the historic headquarters in Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano. The singers
In almost nine hours of non-stop music, there was no shortage of memorable performances in yesterday’s “concert”. Among the artists who have conquered the Circus Maximus it is impossible not to mention Mottabut also i Cor Poisonsymbol of Roman hip hop and a favorite of the local public for over twenty years. Cosmos he performed with a lot of flag of PalestineWhile Morgan spoke of the dangerous entanglement between music and market, of the contrast between the “beautiful songs” and the hit songs, which the singer defined as “burps”. Rhetorical and at times heavy, however, the “bacchettata” of Tropic on the music played, while the evening saw the most important names take to the stage: Geolier, Last, Mahmood, Coez And Frah Quintal, Colapesce and Dimartino, Rose Villain, Tananai And Achille Lauro. The latter asked the public to put away their cell phones and read the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: “Being here is a duty for me, I am on the side of those forgotten by God.” The undisputed protagonist of the evening, however, went far beyond music: Jane Goodalla 90-year-old British anthropologist, explained the similarity and connection between man and chimpanzee also in the way of experiencing music, as demonstrated by his imitation. An important message and a modern thought in a world where too often we tend to go backwards.
