“I can give you piano lessons”

At the Concertone Morgan stings Ultimo: “I can give him piano lessons”

At the Concertone del Primo Maggio Morgan found himself in the lineup with Ultimo, who will release his new album “Altrove” on May 17th. The choice to title the album after his strong point had infuriated Morgan, who had cried plagiarism. During an interview given to “Open” on the eve of May 1st, the artist had not missed the opportunity to attack his colleague again: “I heard some of his things on the piano. We’re not there, it’s music that doesn’t deserve to be considered interesting I respect the boy, if he wants to learn to play I can also give him free lessons, it’s not a problem.” Returning to the controversy over the Ultimo album, the singer-songwriter added: “All the titles, not just mine, are already published songs. They are not covers, they are copied titles. I’m not interested in the rights, I don’t want them. I’m with you. saying to be original, not to listen to other people’s ideas: you are twenty years old, you should be a volcano of ideas”.

Morgan and the request for legitimate impediment for the Concertone

Morgan’s participation in the May Day concert had also created some problems in court. In fact, the day before he should have appeared in Imperia for the defamation trial against Bugo, for the events that occurred on the sidelines of the 2020 Sanremo Festival and their historic live argument. Morgan’s lawyer, Rossella Gallo of the Milan Bar, had however presented a request for legitimate impediment due to work reasons. The judge rejected the request and pointed out that the professional commitment was voluntarily undertaken by Morgan, despite her being aware of the date of the hearing.

Sanremo 2020 case: Bugo in court against Morgan

At the center of the ongoing legal case between the two artists are the epithets addressed by Morgan to Bugo in the context of television interviews and on the occasion of the conference following the final of the 2020 Sanremo Festival. During the hearing, defended by the lawyer Donatella Cerati, Bugo (who last February had refused compensation and an apology from her colleague) recalled how the disagreements with Morgan had arisen well before the Sanremo performance: “I thought the song was perfect to sing with Morgan and when ‘I proposed, he accepted. It was my decision to choose him to participate in the Festival. I realized that in mid-December, after the announcement of our selection at the event, something wasn’t working Then the problems intensified and became almost daily.” Bugo also recalled how many problems were linked to the evening of the covers: “The orchestra rejected Morgan’s score eleven times, the time for rehearsals was therefore limited. This created continuous discontent and Morgan blamed the orchestra, because for him the scores were correct”.
