Concertone, Morgan loses his temper with Ultimo: “He doesn’t deserve anything and he doesn’t know how to play”
Descriptive text here

It’s Morgan-show at the May Day concert. The eccentric and always pungent singer-songwriter was in fact one of the undisputed protagonists of the musical event staged this year at the Circus Maximus. And, as often happens, his presence brought with it a long trail of controversy both during the concert and in the days preceding it. On stage, the musician escaped the “no monologues” rule imposed by the organization and read a short speech that was anything but conciliatory: “You rightly have your show – he began – but on stage it’s not a party, it’s work, this is a day’s work. I want to thank all the people who are here to make sure this thing gets done; they are young people, competent people, people who have studied, who are committed”. Finally, the very harsh attack on politics: musicians “They don’t have any type of legal protection in this country, because artists are not considered and respected at all. Music is a much more important thing than politicians think it is.”

But, as reconstructed by TGCOM, Morgan had already started the controversy on the eve of the big concert, that is, after discovering the presence in the lineup of Ultimo, his bitter adversary in the last period. In one of his interviews with Open he had in fact declared: “I heard some things about him on the piano. We’re not there, it’s music that doesn’t deserve to be considered interesting. I respect the boy, if he wants to learn to play I can also give him free lessons, it’s not a problem.” The singer then commented on the album by the young Roman singer-songwriter, the cause of a long-distance war between the two over its title, “Altrove” – the same as Morgan’s famous workhorse: “All the titles, not just mine, they are already published songs. They are not covers, they are copied titles. I don’t care about the rights, I’m saying to be original, not to listen to other people’s ideas of ideas”.

The participation of Marco Castoldi – this is the name of the Bluevertigo frontman – also had some consequences in the courtrooms. On the eve of the big concert, Morgan should have appeared in Imperia for the defamation trial against Bugo due to the historic dispute that took place live on television during the 2020 Sanremo Festival. However, his lawyer presented a request for legitimate impediment due precisely to reasons of Work. The judge, far from convinced, rejected the request, noting that the professional commitment of the Milanese musician was voluntarily assumed by Morgan, despite him being aware of the date of the hearing. Controversy after controversy which, knowing Castoldi, will not die down after the Labor Day concert.
