Guest of the podcast episode One More Time by Luca Casadei, Guido Maria Brera gave a long interview where the professional aspect, his role as a company manager and also as a writer, was combined with the private one as a husband very much in love with Caterina Balivo. This year the couple celebrates ten years of marriage, celebrated in Capri five years after that first meeting in 2009. A memory that Brera still keeps clear in his mind.
“It all started in the summer of 2009, I was on a boat with some friends who were looking at a photo of a beautiful man. I realized that next to him there was an equally beautiful woman, it was Caterina” said the 54-year-old Roman: “The The following October, one of the people who was on the boat with me invited me to a dinner in Rome, telling me that the woman in the photo would also be there. There I met her in person, for the first time, and I immediately liked her because she was cheerful and sparkling. So I wrote her a letter and asked Lamberto Sposini, who we both knew, to act as messenger. She read it and then made me a wonderful phone call.”
When he met Caterina Balivo, Brera had a marriage behind him from which two children were born. And it was precisely the meeting between his partner and her boyfriends that made him understand that she was the woman of his life: “She won me over definitively when I took her to the house where we slept together with my two children and I saw who she really was: a person who he knew how to alternate and modulate the superficiality of the world of entertainment with a very profound part. It’s fascinating to see two people dancing inside the same body, so it made me fall in love”, continued the author of the novel. The Devils who defines himself as “a loner” unlike his wife who, instead, loves being with others. And again: “It’s complicated, but we earn our happiness every day”, explained Brera who had two other children with Caterina: “One of the greatest joys of my life is seeing this messy, complex family, with characters different, but it doesn’t give up. Beautiful to look at, in all its imperfections”.

Caterina Balivo and Guido Maria Brera, Italian business manager and writer, married in 2014 and from their marriage Guido Alberto and Cora were born, in 2012 and 2017 respectively. It was also to dedicate time to her family that she presenter decided to take a break from TV in 2021: “In the middle of the pandemic, I decided that I had to act. And acting meant stopping. I am also the author of my own programs, it was a commitment of 9-10 hours a day…” she had confided the presenter, in love as on the first day with her husband who keeps an eye on the possibility of being paid attention to by “cheeky” suitors… Today Balivo is back on TV at the helm of The right time.
