Giorgia Meloni depicted as Marylin Monroe with the iconic white dress that lifts up in ‘The Seven Year Itch’ and in this case reveals a pair of underwear with the European flag: one day after the mural appeared on a column between piazza San Babila and via Monte Napoleone the mural by the artist aleXsandro Palombo was vandalized with a black ics on the lips of the prime minister and the writing ‘It’s an insult to Marylin. You consider yourself pro-life but you leave immigrants to die at sea.”
The mural was created immediately after the announcement of the prime minister’s candidacy for the European elections and is not the first work by Palumbo to be vandalised. It happened five times, for example to the Simpsons in Auschwitz, created on the external walls of the Shoah Memorial with the writing W Hitler last January.
In May Palombo had already portrayed Meloni, together with the secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein, pregnant shoulder to shoulder with “Not for rent” on the prime minister’s lap and the writing “My uterus my choice” on Schlein’s.
