There are 70 entities from the provinces of Monza and Lecco (including ASST Brianza, ASST Lecco and IRCCS San Gerardo) that have received the “WHP – Workplace Health Promotion” Award this year, a recognition linked to the “Companies that Promote Health – Network” programme. WHP Lombardia” which is part of the process of Health Promotion in the workplace and which has as its objective the promotion of organizational changes in the workplace so that they can become environments conducive to the conscious adoption of healthy lifestyles.

The actions can concern different thematic areas, from nutrition to an active lifestyle, from the fight against smoking to the fight against alcohol, drugs and gambling, up to practices such as work-life balance and corporate welfare.
On May 7, the annual conference of the regional WHP program was held at the Corte Tanzi in Albiate, coordinated by ATS Brianza.
A moment of meeting of the companies participating in the European network where companies that have made good health and safety practices available to their workers were rewarded.
The afternoon was also an opportunity to talk about health promotion, with the introduction and greetings of the Director General of the Brianza Health Protection Agency Michele Brait and the Health Director Aldo Bellini and with various focuses held by speakers from the Agency and guests such as David Consolazio, Sociology and Social Research researcher at the University of Milan-Bicocca.
Of particular interest is the working table for sharing good practices between companies. In fact, those present at the day also included companies not yet registered in the program but interested in being part of it.

The General Director of ATS Brianza Michele Brait underlined: “the importance of the actions carried out by the WHP program for the promotion of healthy lifestyles for the prevention of the onset of chronic pathologies which, in consideration of the lengthening of life expectancy , constitute the main challenge to be faced by the Regional Social and Health System.
The cornerstone of the project is to monitor the risk factors relating to degenerative diseases, i.e. to ensure that companies promote well-being and health protection behaviors internally. This creates another important result, since workers then carry the health message outside, into the family and other relationships.”
“Our ATS – concluded Dr. Brait – will continue to carry out activities to promote workers’ health, not only as a promoter, but personally as a company and therefore internally. We hope that more and more companies will carry out these initiatives which guarantee significant added value.”
