In Fondi, in the province of Latina, many are incredulous. “I can’t believe it,” a customer of the facility located in the city center opens his arms. The investigations began over a year ago and then, last summer, the Prosecutor’s Office commissioned an expert opinion to ascertain whether the maneuvers performed by Marsella were compatible with the exercise of the activity of physiotherapist. According to the expert, those maneuvers are improper, real sexual abuse. The 29-year-old has been under house arrest since Friday.
THE PROFILE
Born in Gaeta, without a criminal record, he lived for years in Pico, in the province of Frosinone, Biagio Marsella defines himself as a wellness coach, a specialist in body and mind training and psychophysical well-being. On the web he presents himself as a “trainer and trainer of top managers, well-known personalities from the world of entertainment and athletes of international level”, among his clients in the past – in 2021 – the former Big Brother showgirl Francesca Cipriani. She posted photos and videos advising Fondi’s personal trainer, telling of her precious advice for getting back into shape. THE ACCUSATIONS
The investigation papers, however, speak clearly, according to the Prosecutor’s Office of Latina Biagio Marsella carried out another professional activity: that of a physiotherapist, precisely, “in the absence of the required qualifications, the required qualification and the necessary registration in the register”. It is starting from this suspicion that the Fiamme Gialle launched the investigation at the beginning of 2023. An investigation that has broadened the field to sexual violence. Of the eight clients undergoing physiotherapy treatments, four claimed to have been subjected to invasive and non-consensual groping, while in one case a full report was placed on record. Everything would have happened during physiotherapy, cryotherapy and pressotherapy treatments, inside a specially set up gym room. The victims say: “He often locked the door of the room.”
THE KIDNAPPING
A suspicious element, subsequently supported by months of technical investigations, declarations and documentary acquisitions. Hence the arrest and the sealing of the gym. Meanwhile, while the investigators do not rule out the possibility of some further alleged victims coming forward, via social media his girlfriend – also 29 years old – continues to defend him forcefully: «There are articles that tarnish our center by talking about alleged false qualifications and harassment that took place in the gym , resulting from the investigation carried out last year on the use of our absolutely legal electro-aesthetic machines”. The words of a woman in love on the one hand, the papers of the investigators on the other, the next step will be the interrogation of the personal trainer before the judge for preliminary investigations.
