As always, one of the most emblematic manifestations of the friendship between Bondeno and Dillingen is the cultural exchange between the students of the high schools of the two cities. In these days, fourteen young Germans are being welcomed and hosted for a week by as many students from the “Carducci” Scientific High School in Bondeno. Among the activities carried out during the exchange there were cultural visits to important cities of art such as Ferrara, Ravenna and Padua, but also some hours of lessons in English, in particular with the IT course, and in general various opportunities for socialization and aggregations arranged both by the school and by the children and host families. Then, one of the recurring moments of the exchange, which is repeated year after year, is the day spent on the Matildean territory, with the usual visit to the Town Hall: “A warm welcome to our young German friends and thanks to the school and the families for the ‘commitment and the desire to give young people a unique and highly educational experience – was the greeting and comment from the mayor, Simone Saletti, and the councilor for youth policies, Francesca Aria Poltronieri -. thanks to this week in Bondeno and the following seven days that the Carducci students will spend in May with the families of Dillingen, they have the opportunity to establish new friendships, deepen their knowledge of a culture characterized by different peculiarities compared to that of origin, and nevertheless they can coach spoken English thanks to dialogue with peers”. Following the visit to the Town Hall and the greetings of the administrators, the students then got on the pedal-assisted bicycles available in Piazza Aldo Moro (Cioch) and went to visit the Civic and Archaeological Museum “G. Ferraresi” in Stellata. “In other words – continue Saletti and Poltronieri –, the children had the opportunity to admire our territory in a “slow” way, as well as to immerse themselves in the history and origins of Bondeno and its inhabitants. Certainly the experience it was valid, educational and compelling for both the German students and their Italian counterparts.”
