Generally defined as intolerance, or as a form of autoimmune disease, celiac disease appears to be something that includes both considerations and is increasingly widespread as it appears to be on the increase with the new generations, a condition which without many surprises has also modified and influenced the market effective use of food products, as it is understandably difficult otherwise for those who suffer from it to equip themselves with the right products. Being celiac today is certainly less complicated than in the past but doubts can also arise in relation to everyday elements such as rice: can celiacs actually eat rice?

Cereals in a general sense constitute a very important source for every form of diet of every culture on the planet.

Depriving yourself of it consciously or not turns out to be potentially a big problem also because it is an extremely diversified area.

Intolerance problem: can celiacs eat rice? Here is the truth explained by the nutritionist

But what is celiac disease? In Italy around 200 thousand certified people are affected by it even if it is not always easy to consider the symptoms as something uniquely linked to this form of disease, because it is such that it does not have a real cure: the body of a person who suffers from Celiac disease in fact presents a form of intolerance towards gluten which, especially in the recent past, has been very present in many food products, especially of plant origin.

Gluten has been considered an excellent element composed of proteins that has always been used in the food sector, but in celiacs it develops a real form of inflammation of the intestinal tract which, in addition to generating quite recognizable pain, also makes the absorption of gluten almost zero. other nutrients, therefore it can be conceived as an element that “does damage” even in the period following its intake.

Celiac disease can be considered as a disease “in itself” but also linked to other pathologies such as diabetes, even if according to findings approximately 2/3 of potentially celiac people have it asymptomatically, i.e. they don’t know it.

Gluten is present in various cereals but rice is completely gluten free so it is absolutely safe from potentially annoying effects, so even celiacs can consume it without any problem both directly but also for example with related products such as rice flour. It is probably the most widespread gluten-free cereal in the world and for this reason it is a very important source of nutrients even for those suffering from this particular form of intolerance.
