Fly to the Rocca Pendice rock gym: freeclimber in hospital

Moments of fear tonight 6 April in the municipality of Teolo. At 7.30 pm the Padua mountain rescue was activated for a freeclimber who flew into the rock gym of Rocca Pendice, in the Euganean Hills. From initial information, during the descent along the east face, Attacks sector, a 48-year-old from Padua fell about ten meters to the ground. With him were his companions and a doctor who happened to be on site, who immediately assisted him.

The rescue

Leaving the vehicles in the car park, nine rescuers reached the site of the accident on foot, accompanying the ambulance medical team, who immediately provided first aid to the man for suspected trauma to the pelvis, femur and ankle. Once on a stretcher, the injured person was lowered about sixty meters onto the path below and from there transported for approximately 800 meters of ups and downs. Transferred to the ambulance, he was taken to Padua hospital. Once the appropriate clinical investigations of the case were completed, after the tension that was felt immediately, the forty-eight year old was judged not to be in danger of his life.
