It will be the Tour of Italy 2026 the main objective in the season of Giulio Pellizzari. The runner from the Marche region will return to the Corsa Rosa after sixth place in 2025, but with a different initial perspective. Having started this year as Primoz Roglic’s wingman, next May the talented Italian will start immediately with the rank of captain of the team Red Bull – Bora – hansgroheeven if on paper there will also be another reference man for the general classification, that is Jai Hindleyalready winner of the Trofeo Senza Fine in 2022. The young Italian talent’s will, however, is already clear, namely to improve his ranking and therefore attempt to at least enter the Top 5, which he also missed out on at the last minute at the Vuelta a España.

In the last days of rest before starting the final preparation phase for the new season, the 22 year old from San Severino took part in the Gianmarco Garofoli Day solidarity ride in Castelfidardo, a charity initiative promoted by the Soudal Quick-Step runner from his fellow region. On the sidelines of the event Pellizzari spoke about his form: “The conditions are good – his comment on the Sports newspaper – You have to start racing to understand the level.” As for the objectives, the Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe rider places the focus on the Giro: “I will participate in the Giro d’Italia, trying to improve on my sixth place in 2025”.

In the run-up to the Corsa Rosa, the rider from the Marche region should also try to test himself on another terrain, namely that of the Classics. If up to now no significant results have been achieved in the one-day races, given his young age there could be important margins for improvement in this type of race too, even if his response regarding his qualities in the classics leads him to confirm great humility, explaining that “And still too early to tell”.

In any case, with the arrival of a rider of the caliber of Remco Evenepoelthere could also be the opportunity to test him as a support in the most demanding Classics, in which the Belgian will be the leading man of a team that promises to be increasingly among the great protagonists of the season.
