The Xpeng P7+ is preparing to write an important record. Also expected in Europe during 2026, the Chinese sedan is an electric car with a petrol range extender and boasts an impressive zero-emission range.
We don’t know if we will also see it in Italy, but its technical characteristics are decidedly interesting.
Over 400 km without fuel
5.07 meters long and weighing 2,160 kg (a lot but not a lot if you consider the external dimensions), the P7+ 2026 will be offered both in the BEV version and in the Theaccompanied by a profound technical and stylistic update that Xpeng defines as a true redesign of the model, with 104 overall upgrades.
In the case of the BEV, the declared autonomy reaches up to 725 km in the Chinese CLTC cycle (more optimistic than “our” WLTP), while the EREV variant reaches a total range of 1.550 kmcombining electric traction and petrol generation.

The most striking data, however, concerns the pure electric range of the EREV: 430 km without the intervention of the combustion engine (also here in the Chinese approval cycle), a value which according to Xpeng represents a world record in the range extender sedan segment.
The numbers of BEV and EREV
From a technical point of view, the Xpeng range extender combines a petrol engine 1.5 turbo gives 148 CV used exclusively as a generator with a 241 HP electric motor that moves the rear wheels and is powered by a 49.2 kWh battery.

The BEV version, already marketed in China, remains a point of reference for aerodynamic efficiency, with a drag coefficient of just 0.206 Cd. It is offered with rear-wheel drive and two power levels, 241 or 308 HP, combined with 60.7, 74.9 or 76.3 kWh LFP batteries. The top of the range uses a 800 Volt platform with 5C ultra-fast charging, capable of going from 30 to 80% in approximately 12 minutes.
The picture is completed by a notable load capacity – up to 2,221 liters when the seats are folded down – and a commercial success already consolidated at home: over 88,000 units sold in a year, with the P7+ leader of the segment in China. Numbers that explain why the arrival in Europe of the P7+, especially in the EREV version, is being watched with growing interest.
