The last day of the year coincides, for many riders, with the expiration of their contracts with their teams. Obviously, many of these riders have already signed for a new team and in a few hours their new agreement will officially come into force, but there are also numerous athletes who are currently still waiting for the 2026 season. In the last few hours, however, three have managed to find accommodation, although no longer in teams belonging to the WorldTour or Professional categories and, in one case, even changing discipline.

This is the case of the young man Eddy Le Huitouzewho was not confirmed by Groupama-FDJ for 2026 after only two seasons as a professional with the transalpine team. The 22-year-old, who had achieved several good results in the Under-23 category, had declared in recent weeks that he wanted to continue his career in gravel and, as reported by The Telegramhas now found a team to race in this discipline, the Team Wilier.

The New Zealander, however, drops to Continental level George Jacksonwho has worn the shirt of Burgos Burpellet BH in the last two years. The 25-year-old, winner in 2023 of the Tour of Taihu Lake (plus two stages), one stage at the Tour de Langkawi and one at the Tour of Hainan, will return to racing for his first team, theNZ Cycling Projectwith which in 2022 he achieved the results that would have allowed him to become professional with Bolton Equities Black Spoke the following year.

Finally, after two years with TotalEnergies, he returns to the amateurs Lucas Boniface. The 25-year-old Frenchman, who this season achieved as his most “relevant” results a third place in the prologue of the Tour of Istanbul and an eighth in the Rund um Köln, will race in 2026 with the Charvieu Chavagneux Isère Cyclinga team that will mainly be involved in races on the national transalpine calendar.
