In the last seven days, 144 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Tuscany: 76 confirmed with a molecular swab and the other 68 with a rapid test.

The number of infected people detected in the region since the beginning of the pandemic therefore rises to 1,654,364. To date, 336 are still positive. The number of recoveries increased by 0.00% (77 people) and reached 1,641,520 (99.2% of total cases).

To date, 52 people are hospitalized (14 more than the previous week, up 36.8%), of which 3 (1 more, up 50%) are in intensive care. 284 are in isolation at home because they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free (50 more than the previous week, up 21.4%).

The list of deaths is updated with 3 new deaths: a man and 2 women with an average age of 72.7 years.

The trend by province

With the latest cases, the number of positive cases since the beginning of the emergency in the municipalities of the metropolitan city of Florence rises to 441,882 (73 more than the previous week), 107,134 in the province of Prato (2 more), 128,102 in Pistoia (6 more ), 86,855 in Massa Carrara (1 more), 180,101 in Lucca (10 more), 194,545 in Pisa (11 more), 152,874 in Livorno (5 more), 149,586 in Arezzo (17 more), 118,752 in Siena (11 more) and 92,929 in Grosseto (5 more). To these must be added 571 positive cases notified in Tuscany but which concern residents in other regions.

Tuscany has approximately 45,177 overall cases per 100,000 inhabitants since the start of the pandemic (among residents and non-residents). At the moment the notification province with the highest rate is Lucca (with 47,124 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants), followed by Livorno (46,807) and Pisa (46,634). The lowest concentration is found in Prato (with a rate of 41,326).

The deaths

The list of deaths is updated with 3 new deaths: a man and 2 women with an average age of 72.7 years.

Relative to the province of residence, the deceased people are: 1 in Prato, 1 in Pistoia, 1 in Pisa.

12,508 have died since the beginning of the epidemic: 3,924 in the metropolitan city of Florence, 990 in the province of Prato, 1,138 in Pistoia, 750 in Massa Carrara, 1,118 in Lucca, 1,416 in Pisa, 939 in Livorno, 814 in Arezzo, 732 in Siena, 473 in Grosseto. We must add 214 people who died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

The crude mortality rate for Covid-19 (number of deaths/resident population) is currently 341.6 per 100 thousand residents. As regards the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (399.8 per 100 thousand inhabitants), followed by Florence (397.1 x100,000) and Pistoia (392.7 x100,000), while the lowest is in Grosseto (218.3 x100,000).
