Calzedonia Golden Links Coronavirus donation

To deal with the Coronavirus emergency, Intesa Sanpaolo in collaboration with Calzedonia, has distributed to some hospitals in Lombardy and Veneto, 11,000 underwear intended for patients affected by Covid-19 hospitalized in intensive care and who cannot receive replacements from their families due to quarantine.

For this supply, part of the garments was purchased by Intesa Sanpaolo while the other part was donated by Calzedonia.

The initiative is part of the “Golden Links” project born two years ago from the collaboration between Intesa Sanpaolo, Caritas Italiana, S-Nodi and some of the Bank’s client companies.

The project, which started at a local level in 2018 and expanded to a national scale at the end of 2019, promotes the distribution of new clothing items – especially underwear and shoes – to people in precarious economic conditions. In two years it allowed the distribution of 114,000 garments and will continue in 2020/21 to meet the growing needs of an increasingly wider range of people in difficulty.

In this moment of health emergency, Intesa Sanpaolo has thus decided to orient towards Coronavirus patients to respond to an often overlooked need that profoundly affects human dignity

The “Golden Links” project is an integral part of the 2018 – 2021 business plan and further confirms Intesa Sanpaolo’s role as an impactful bank attentive to social issues and, especially at this time, to the health of citizens.

The exceptional nature of the events linked to the Covid-19 emergency was immediately understood by Intesa Sanpaolo, which has implemented various measures to support people, businesses and territories since the end of February.
