He was definitely the most excited. Hat on his head, guitar in hand and there – sitting next to the bed – playing and singing his songs to patients suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. An unexpected and moving concert which in recent days saw as its protagonist Morgan (born Marco Castoldi) who performed in Monza, inside the SLAncio structure where patients suffering from ALS and in a vegetative state are cared for.
“You are very strong for what you do”
An experience full of emotions that the singer-songwriter from Monza recounted in a short video published on his Instagram page (here is the link). A video in which Morgan is seen sitting next to a patient’s bed playing and singing. Then, at the end of the performance, the computer-synthesized voice with which the man communicates gives Morgan a very special thank you. “You are very strong for what you do, all the best suffer hard.” An unexpected compliment, and Morgan responds by recalling that “All the best suffer” is the title of the album.
The video that moved the internet
A video that immediately went viral and moved the internet. Morgan with a smile, but also visibly excited and involved for his performance in front of a very special audience. An audience made up of patients suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that destroys nerve cells which control voluntary movements, leading to gradual muscle paralysis, difficulty speaking, swallowing and breathing, while the mind and cognitive functions remain intact. Patients who communicate through a synthesizer and who, with that metallic voice, thanked the singer-songwriter from Monza for the emotion and humanity he brought to these festive days.
“This year I gave myself the gift”
“This year I gave myself a gift by going to meet those who really struggle in life – Morgan wrote on social media -. I brought some music and received energy and infinite gratitude”.
