A statement from Meghan Markle’s father appears which does not bode well for their relationship.
While much is said about Prince Harry’s complicated relationship with his father, King Charles III, fewer details we know about those between his wife Meghan and father Thomas Markle. The latter recently returned to the attack, venting in an interview about the behavior of his daughter.
The fact that Meghan was accompanied to the altar by her father-in-law and not by her father spoke volumes from the beginning. Of course, the scene is nothing short of spectacular and moving, if you then think about how things went. Yet this father cut off by the Duchess of Sussex can’t get over it and apparently always gets it wrong.
Thomas Markle’s final appeal
The relationships between Meghan Markle and her family of origin have always been troubled, as well known to the public. The reasons that led the Duchess of Sussex to cut ties with her father Thomas and her half-sister Samantha are widely documented. The only member of her family remaining next to Meghan is her mother Doria Ragland. However, Thomas does not give up and continues to hope to mend his relationship with his daughter.
Words have a very strong power and often if used in the wrong way they can do a lot of harm. Surely Meghan will not have appreciated what her father said about her recently at Daily Mail. Outspoken, Thomas described Meghan as an ambitious and vengeful personexpressing “empathy” for King Charles and sharing his concerns regarding the Duchess’ behaviors.
“Neither Carlo nor I deserve this treatment” Thomas made his debut. “He’s going through cancer treatment, and I’m not in perfect health. I feel deep empathy for the king,” he added. “We’re in the same boat.” He said he had many questions for Meghan and Harry, particularly about their treatment not only of him, but also of the royal family and the king.
A particularly painful issue for Thomas is the lack of contact with his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet. “I haven’t met my grandchildren yet. Both Archie and Lilibet have two grandparents who want to see them, one of whom is even the king of England,” said Markle’s father. “I wish we could have resolved this situation. I was always ready and I’m willing to do it.”
Despite Meghan’s categorical refusal, Thomas has no intention of giving up. “I trust in time, but equally I wouldn’t know where to start. The king is right in saying that he is afraid of my daughter and her behavior,” he concluded.
