The media speculate that the cause could be a fall from a horse, but for now Buckingham Palace prefers not to release the details.
Head trauma for the Princess Royal

Anna’s love for horses
According to the first rumors reported by the Guardian, at the time of the accident Anna’s husband, Sir Tim Laurence and his children, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall. The princess would have been accompanied to the hospital by her husband. The newspaper added: “…He is supposed to be able to return home later this week.” In this regard, however, a Palace spokesperson clarified: “His Royal Highness is recovering well, in good condition…he is receiving appropriate treatment, but no further details will be shared at this time. Your Royal Highness will remain at Southmead Hospital until the medical team decides otherwise.”
