Hollywood is ready to welcome Jonathan Majors back into the jet set and does so just a few months after the ex-Kang’s final conviction for harassment and assault which saw him avoid prison in favor of a 52-week program.
The same sentence that will not fit well with the needs of the set of the new film in which Jonathan Majors is involved and which marks the actor’s first film role after the troubled trial. The scandal of which Majors was the protagonist earned him his dismissal from the MCU where the actor had a rather rosy prospect as the new super villain of the Multiverse. Marvel Studios still seems to have no clear ideas on how to proceed with Kang’s replacement.
Anyway Majors is in the cast of Merciless, a new independent thriller directed by Martin Villeneuve (Denis Villeneuve’s brother) who confirmed the news of the actor’s involvement in the film. Merciless tells the story of a CIA investigator whose life changes as soon as the woman he loves is overwhelmed by a dark force: this will be the moment to push himself beyond the limits to save her. The director is known for the science fiction film Mars et Avril and for Merciless he will direct from a screenplay by Frank Hannah.
Has Hollywood forgiven Jonathan Majors? It would seem that the former MCU villain is slowly climbing back up the ladder: Majors recently received the Perseverance Award although not without much controversy.
