Hundreds of songs, novels, radio and TV programs. Now a book that tells the story of his 40 lives. In which he managed to sow the paparazzi, but not the prejudices
Enrico Ruggeri has just sent his autobiography to bookstores (“40 lives – Without stopping me ever” – La Nave di Teseo) and on Oggi on newsstands he talks about it even beyond his career. Which he believes is far from over: «I would like to make music until the end of my days, also because I continue to write, have ideas and go on stage. But I am very self-critical and demanding, and for this reason a lot of stuff will never see the light” – photo | video

“AGAINST DICTATORships” – A long story, that of Enrico Ruggeri, far from gossip: «Just don’t go to places, boats, restaurants manned by photographers. And when I also spoke about very personal events, I did so without excess”, he says. «I have not held back or censored myself, except in the specifics of my profession, where I could have spoken badly of more than one. But it wasn’t out of cowardice or quiet living: rather out of respect for the fans, who have the right to love whoever they want.” Ruggeri adds: «In politics I pass as a right-winger, but on practical issues I am much less so than people think: for example on the liberalization of soft drugs, abortion and also on what is happening in Gaza. It remains that I am profoundly against dictatorships. Back in high school, in Milan, there was only one thought, one dominant orientation. But if I went back a hundred years I would be with Matteotti, not with the bad squads.”
