Chiara Ferragni loses popularity among teenagers, at least as a successful female role model to inspire. While only a short time ago the influencer who founded her empire starting from an outfit blog was the first answer that came to mind for very young people when they were asked to think of an entrepreneur to follow in her footsteps, after the scandal pandoro and the subsequent investigation, Chiara’s supremacy wavers.

The change of pace was revealed by an exploratory survey carried out by Objective Effe, a female empowerment project created by the University of Milan-Bicocca, which presented Effe Summer Camp, a free summer camp for education on female entrepreneurship and finance, which will take place in Milan from 10 to 15 June 2024. «In our previous research – explains Emanuela Rinaldi, creator of the project and professor of Sociology of cultural processes at the University of Milan-Bicocca – Chiara Ferragni was one of the few model entrepreneurs cited spontaneously by teenagers , together with Miuccia Prada, against a long list of male names, from Elon Musk to Mark Zuckerberg and Giorgio Armani.
A recognition that fell after the ‘Pandoro case’, significantly impoverishing the female aspirational universe, which is one of the factors that influence the entrepreneurial attitude among young women.” From the research, which includes a questionnaire proposed to a sample of 502 adolescents (male and female) and a qualitative focus with 12 girls carried out between January and March 2024, it emerges that adolescents often do not know female entrepreneurs and in any case imagine them as women with helmet: «to be an entrepreneur, a woman must be tough and determined, otherwise they would put their feet on her head». Some criticisms also emerged from the focus: «I don’t particularly respect her, since she based all her fortune on ephemeral aspects of life», «For me she is not the best entrepreneur of yesterday, today or tomorrow», «I think that too much popularity hid a certain falseness.”
