Leonardo and AcegasApsAmga will participate in the Mare Fvg project. This was confirmed by the regional councilor for Work, Training, Education, Research and University Alessia Rosolen, following the letter received from Leonardo SpA, with which the CEO Roberto Cingolani expresses the company’s interest in joining the new cluster and actively participating in its governance, recognizing in the model promoted by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region a credible platform for the integration between the aerospace, maritime (naval, nautical and submarine), energy and digital domains.

A clear industrial policy choice

“The path that led to the birth of Mare Fvg – explains Rosolen – represents a clear and coherent industrial policy choice: bringing together supply chains that already share technologies, skills and development trajectories. The desire to participate in the project confirms the solidity of the approach adopted by the Region and reinforces the idea of a cluster capable of working in a multi-domain logic, integrating industry, research and innovation. From this perspective, the value of this operation is not measured only in the presence of large players, but in the ability to generate concrete impacts on the entire regional production system, starting from small and medium-sized enterprises”.

The objectives

In the document, the group highlights how the multi-sectoral approach of the cluster is fully consistent with its industrial strategy, based on the interconnection of technologies and the valorisation of synergies between large companies, research systems and the fabric of small and medium-sized enterprises.

As the councilor recalled, on 2 July 2025 the Members’ Assembly approved the changes to the statute, a fundamental step to accompany the expansion of the cluster and allow the entry of new entities representing the emerging supply chains. At the same time, the stakeholder representatives prepared the proposed strategic plan, which will be subjected to examination and approval by the new governing bodies of Mare Fvg, soon to be appointed.

The new sectors of the cluster

A transition that becomes possible thanks to the entry into the corporate structure of companies belonging to the new sectors of the cluster, such as Leonardo, AcegasApsAmga, Danieli and Eurolls. The Shareholders’ Meeting is expected to be convened within the first few months of 2026 to approve the new Board of Directors. The approval of the Strategic Plan and the appointments of the representatives of the Scientific Committee and the Industrial Committee will then follow, completing the governance structure of the new cluster.
