New Fiat Punto 2023 first technical characteristics

Rumors have been circulating for months about the arrival of a new car model signed by Fiat, perhaps in a city car version, perhaps in a more compact crossover version, which, however, will represent the official return of the Fiat Punto 2023.

The CEO of Fiat, Olivier François, has announced that by 2027 the House aims to become the first major generalist brand in the all-electric world and that the heir to the Fiat Punto will not be named after the historic ‘progenitor’, but will still relaunch the model in the most modern world, taking advantage of the CMP modular platformhybrid and electric motors included, to ensure cost savings, but without going too far.

And some renderings have also been circulated that could represent the final design of the new Punto 2023. What emerges from the renderings is a decidedly new design for the Fiat Punto 2023 which seems to abandon the sinuous and rounded shapes typical of the previous Punto models, to make room for more sporty lines.

Moving on to the mechanics and engines sector, what is known at the moment is that the new Fiat Punto 2023 will be based on the CMP architecture platform and that the new model will arrive immediately with hybrid engine and in 2024 in the full Electric version, confirming the all-green path that the House has decided to take.

Just over 4 meters long, based on the Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa platform, the new Fiat Punto 2023 will inherit internal combustion and 100% electric engines and will be followed in the coming years by various more or less hybrid and electric crossover models of the same length of 4.5 meters and with the same general technical characteristics.
