After the July holidays, the Ferrero factory will reopen with 1,400 seasonal workers


ALBA One of the fixed points of the last week of June in Alba and its surroundings is the party with the Ferrero elderly, which preludes the summer holidays of the Alba plant and the subsequent reopening, in the second half of July with the arrival of seasonal workers.

The company doesn’t stop completely; during these weeks of pause, maintenance, overhauls and modernizations are carried out, then the 1,400 seasonal workers hired for the autumn and, above all, Christmas productions will be added to the approximately 4 thousand permanent employees.

For seasonal workers, mostly confirmed from previous production seasons, three-month contracts are ready, which, depending on the needs, are renewed even several times. It is a different story, however, for permanent employees and for union representatives who, at a national level, are grappling with the renewal of the collective agreement and then move on to company supplements: the annual production bonus at Ferrero is always attractive (almost 2,400 euros gross for the Alba plant during 2023) but, like all Italian salaries, it has been attacked by post-Covid inflation and this will have a decisive weight in the negotiation.
